Network Rules

Rules:

• No spamming channels or users (Including bot[net]s that harm the network)
• Spamming is where repeated messages occur in a channel or channels across the network.
• No mass advertising (Including invites, web site spam, or the like)
• Mass advertising chain-link, click for money, fraud, and other web sites as such that advertise false or defamatory information.
• Mass inviting users to channels. [3 invites per 60 seconds per user]
• No distribution of copyrighted material or pornography.
• This is self explainable. You will be removed from the network if you are found to be transmitting such data.
• No hacking (Includes: Viruses, Worms, Trojans, and Exploits).
• And is not limited to account hijacking, fake service names and so forth.
• Attempts to infect other users with a virus/worm etc will result in permanent removal from the SGWirc network. It's not cool to do such a thing, it's illegal, accessing a users computer without prior consent.
• No racism, sexism, nazism, or any other behavior that is deemed to be hateful.
• While we do allow of free speech on SGWirc, we allow of anti type channels, however there is a fine line between an anti group and a hatred, racist and/or nazism channels. If we come across such channels. The channel will be suspended and user who registered the channel will most likely have their account suspended as well.

Misc Rule Info

• Channels with +s are not seen by network operators, only IRC administrators. Do know the difference!
• Channels with +s have a different rule set in place. +s means it is a secret channel and it is not intended for the general public to know about it. We the staff are not responsible for what happens in such channels with +s enabled. Channel issues with abuse reports on a chan with +s will most likely be ignored by the network staff and passed down to the channel owner of the channel. We respect users privacy on this network, and as such, channel mode +s, if enabled on the channel.
• Channel take overs are a case by case basis. Yes, they do occur on irc, there is no REAL way of making it stop happening. If your channel becomes taken over by a user on your channel user list of at least op access or higher, we will discard the take over. (Sorry, but we do not deal with channel issues when the user who took over the channel is on the user list. Try !set protect setting for more info.) If the user was not on the user list, somehow gained op by another op and took the channel over, than yes, that is when us staff will look into the issue.
